Micro Tales

“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story…” ~ Maya Angelou

It’s a curious business, being a storyteller. Sometimes the plot comes to you uninhibited, words flowing tirelessly through your blood at a speed your hands can seldom keep up with. Other times, the characters arrive first and proceed to dance all over the place until you listen to their bid for attention, and sort out their lives.

Sometimes, though, snippets of random tales sneak their way into your dreams. Quiet conversations and magical scenes that cartwheel inside your imagination without a beginning or end. They are sudden, these scenes. Small bursts of starlight, fickle and fleeting, like eye floaters and moths that appear in sunlight and only from a certain angle.

It is these innumerable flashes of lightening I have tried to capture here…
